Ice Forming in the PerfectDraft Machine

Modified on Wed, 15 Mar 2023 at 10:38 AM

If you're experiencing ice forming in your PerfectDraft machine, don't worry, there are a few simple steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Firstly, it's important to note that a little bit of frost is normal, as the cooling system in the machine uses a refrigerant gas that can cause condensation to form. However, if you're noticing a lot of ice building up, this could indicate an underlying problem that needs addressing.

The first thing to check is that your PerfectDraft machine has enough space around it to allow for adequate ventilation. If it's placed in a tight or enclosed space, it may not be able to dissipate heat properly, which can cause ice to form. Ensure that there is at least 10cm of space around the machine, and avoid placing it near other appliances that generate heat.

Another common cause of ice formation is a dirty fan. Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the fan, reducing its efficiency and causing it to overwork. This can lead to ice forming on the cooling system. To clean the fan, switch off and unplug your machine, then remove the drip tray and grille. Use a soft brush or cloth to gently clean the fan blades and surrounding area, taking care not to damage any components. Once you've finished, replace the grille and drip tray, and switch the machine back on.

If you've tried these steps and the problem persists, it's recommended to contact the customer service team. They will be able to advise you further and arrange for a technician to inspect your machine if necessary.
